How it works
You send it once.
We do the chasing.
Four steps. The repair brief comes first, then manual review and quote sourcing.
- 01
Send the job
One line is enough. Or just forward the tenant's message. Photos help.
- 02
We review the brief
We write the job up properly, flag missing details, and share the same brief with relevant local trades.
- 03
Quotes are sourced
Where local supply supports it, quotes come back against the same brief. If supply is thin, we say so.
- 04
You choose the next step
Pick a quote, ask for clarification, use your own contractor, or choose nobody. No obligation.
What you get back
One email. Comparable quotes. Everything you need to choose.
Read it on your phone, forward it to your landlord, or file it. If the local supply pool is thin, the update says that instead of dressing one option up as a comparison.
The job, written up properly
Every trade prices the same job. No apples and oranges.
Comparable prices, side by side
Where supply supports it, quotes are lined up against the same brief. If not, we tell you plainly.
Relevant paperwork flagged
Gas Safe, Part P, public liability and other job-specific checks shown in the pack.
What's included, and what's not
VAT, call-out fees, and exclusions in plain sight. No surprises on the invoice.
When they can start
Earliest visit, access notes, and what the trade will need on arrival.
Our promise
- If we got the job wrong, we fix the write-up and go again. Free.
- If a trade drops out before work starts, we try to source another and tell you what happened.
- Pick one quote, or none. Nothing to cancel.
A promise about the quotes, not the workmanship. Once you instruct works, your contract sits with the contractor.
Not a lead site
Lead sites sell your number.
We never do.
Post a job on a marketplace and trades pay for your contact details. Then the calls start. With us there’s one contact: us. The trades never see your number until you pick one.

The checks we make
Real checks.
Not badges.
Four things we always do before a quote lands in your inbox. You can check two of them on public registers yourself.
Gas Safe verified
Gas works are quoted only by Gas Safe registered engineers. Registration confirmed before we pass the job on.
Check the Gas Safe RegisterPart P competent
Fixed electrical work is quoted by trades holding Part P competence, which the law requires for this kind of work.
About Part P (GOV.UK)Public liability checked
Every contractor we introduce carries public liability insurance. We check it before they receive your job.
Free for you
Landlords, agents, and property managers pay nothing. The winning trade pays us, and only when they win.
How we make money
It’s free for you. When a trade wins a job, they pay us a referral fee out of their margin. Your quotes are not marked up.
We introduce and coordinate. The work itself is between you and the trade you choose. We check their paperwork before any quote reaches you, and your own final checks still apply.
Before you trust us with a job
The honest answers. Not marketing copy.
Liability, fees, and what we do when a job goes sideways. The three questions landlords ask us the most.
If a contractor introduced through FixQuotes damages my property, who is liable?
The contractor. We introduce; we don’t do the work. Your contract is with the trade you choose, and they carry public liability insurance. We check it before they ever see your job.
If something goes wrong, your first call is the trade and their insurer. We hand over everything we hold (the job write-up, the agreed price, the checks we made) to help sort a claim. Always do your own final checks before authorising work.
Does the contractor's referral fee inflate the price on my quote?
No. The fee comes out of the trade’s margin, and only when they win the job. It is never added to your price.
There’s a built-in check, too. All three trades price the same job, so a padded quote sticks out next to the other two. You’d just pick a different trade. We flag anything that looks off when we spot it.
What happens if I'm not happy with the contractor you sent?
If we got the job wrong (a bad write-up, a missed credential, the wrong shortlist), that’s on us. We’ll fix it and find new trades at no cost.
If the problem is the trade’s workmanship, that sits between you and them. Their insurance and any trade-association complaints process apply. Tell us either way; we log every complaint and drop trades who repeatedly let people down. Reach us at hello@fixquotes.co.uk or 07950 959 865.

Where we work
Start with the property postcode. Contractor density is currently strongest across London and the commute belt, and we will say plainly if local supply is thin.

Common questions, straight answers.
Is FixQuotes really free for landlords and agents?
Yes. Landlords, letting agents, and property managers pay nothing. The winning trade pays us a referral fee, and only when they win the job.
Does FixQuotes carry out the works?
No. Independent local contractors do the work. We find them, check their paperwork, and collect the quotes. Your contract for the work is with the trade you choose.
How quickly do quotes come back?
It depends on the trade, postcode and urgency. We manually review the brief first, prioritise urgent jobs, and tell you plainly if local supply is thin.
What if I don't like any of the quotes?
Then pick none of them. There's no obligation, nothing to cancel, and no account to delete.
Can I use my own contractor?
Of course. Use us for the jobs where you want options, or a quick check that a price is fair.
How do you check the trades?
We ask for public liability insurance and the paperwork relevant to the job before putting a quote in front of you. Gas work goes to Gas Safe registered engineers; fixed electrical work goes to Part P competent trades. The quote pack states what we checked.
What areas do you cover?
Start with the property postcode. Coverage depends on the trade and the local contractor pool, and we will not pretend a job is covered if we cannot source credible quotes.
